PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cotton material or a cotton product having excellent antioxidant ability and fastness to washing and useful for underwear, a pajama, a diaper, an adhesive plaster, a bandage, a gauze, or the like, by adding catechins to a cotton treated with a quaternary ammonium compound. SOLUTION: This cotton material or cotton product is obtained by adding catechins, preferably (-)-epigallocatechin gallate, or the like, to a cotton treated with a quaternary ammonium compound preferably under alkaline conditions. The resultant cotton material or cotton product is useful for woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, felts, or the like, and products such as clothes, gloves, hosiery, sheets, footwear, various covers, packaging materials, filters, carriers or filter aids produced by using the woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, felts, or the like. |
