PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment for manufacturing porous metal sheet, capable of manufacturing a high strength porous metal sheet while dispensing with the sticking, e.g. of resin strips together and the incorporation, e.g. of a metal foil, perforated steel sheet, or wire net, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the porous metal sheet. SOLUTION: This equipment is a porous metal sheet manufacturing equipment for manufacturing a porous metal sheet consisting of a metal skeleton and pores. The equipment is provided with a green sheet forming device 3 for forming a metal slurry 4 into a thin-sheet-like green sheet on a cerrier sheet 2, a high temperature and high humidity tank 5 for forming the green sheet on the carrier sheet 2, a drying tank 6 for drying a foamed sheet formed by foaming on the carrier sheet 2, and a sintering furnace for forming a porous metal sheet by sintering the dried foamed sheet. Further, the equipment is provided with a magnetic force applying device 23 for applying magnetic force to the green sheet in the high temperature and high humidity tank 5 in the downward direction of the plane perpendicular to the carrier sheet 2 surface.
