PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved turbine shroud superior in cooling both a shroud and a moving blade tip, in cooperation with the moving blade tip of a turbine. SOLUTION: A turbine shroud comprises a panel 48, having a front end 54, a rear end 56 on the opposite side, and a middle part 64 located midway between the two. A plurality of cooling holes 66 for introducing cooling air through the panel 48 penetrate the panel 48. In order to achieve preferential cooling, the cooling holes are arranged, in such a pattern that their existing density in the rear of the middle part of the panel 48 is higher than that in the front of the middle part of the panel 48.
