PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noise by enhancing the rigidity of a closed case in regard to a closed type electrically driven compressor to be used for a domestic refrigerator. SOLUTION: In a closed case 2 formed of a first dome shaped case 3, and of a second dome shaped case 4, either one of the cases 3, 4 is formed with plural curved surfaces 24 and 27, ridges 21, 22 and 25 formed out of the plural curved surfaces 24 and 27, are formed roughly in the radial direction, and the circumferential direction so as to let the radial ridges 22 and 25 be formed into an area roughly from the center point 23 of the case 3 to a place close to the circumferential ridge 21, and concurrently, from the circumferential ridge 21 until a place close to a circular opening part 26. By preventing the radial ridges 22 and 25 from approaching, each curved surface is complexly divided into small parts, and concurrently since the mutually adjacent curved surfaces 24 and 27 are held by the ridges 22 and 25 in the radial direction, the closed case 2 high in rigidity can thereby be obtained.
