PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture products without effects in quality even by generation of a slack and an inclination of a printing medium by separating a pinch roller from a platen when a thermal head approaches a printing position and bringing the pinch roller close to the platen when the thermal head separates from the printing position. SOLUTION: A pinch roller 12 is set to a roller-supporting body 13 at the lower stream of a thermal head 7 of a transfer path for a printing medium T. The roller-supporting body 13 can freely swing around a shaft 13a set to one end part and is urged towards a platen 11 by a spring 14. When the thermal head 7 approaches a printing position, the pinch roller 12 is separated from the platen 11 by rotating a transfer motor 33. When the thermal head 7 separates from the printing position, the pinch roller is brought close to the platen 11 by rotating a head-pressing motor 19 forward.
