PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure accurately an astigmatic angle by providing a gyro in a hand-held measurement section and obtaining an astigmatic axis angle using the signal of the gyro in an optometer to measure an astigmatic axis angle. SOLUTION: An optical system 2 and a light splitting member 3 are arranged from an examined eye E side on the lens axis 01 of a measurement section 1, an anterior segment imaging means 4 is arranged in the direction of reflection of the light splitting member 3 and a measuring system 5 is arranged in the direction of transmission of the light splitting member 3. In addition, an anterior segment display monitor section 6 is mounted on an examiner side, and the imaging means 4 is connected to the anterior segment display monitor 6. In such a measurement section 1, a small gyro 8 and an operation means 9 are provided. The angle of the measurement section 1 when placed on a base 7 is used as a reference of measurement, the angle in the face vertical to the measurement lens axis 01 when the measurement section 1 is held by the hand is measured with the gyro 8 for the detection of the astigmatic angle. As the gyro 8 can measure each speed, an angle can be obtained by time integration of the value by an operation means 9.
