PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire having large rigidity and improved maneuverability and cornering stability by containing specific quantities of conjugate diene elastomer, fine grain ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene with a specific weight-average molecular weight, a fine grain starch/plasticizer composite material and a reinforcing filler in an insert. SOLUTION: An apex 7 is provided in a side wall insert 8 arranged apart from bead cores 2. The rubber in the apex 7 and the insert 8 is a sulfur- hardened rubber composition. Conjugate diene hydrocarbon elastomer of 100 phr and fine grain ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene of 5-50 phr with the weight-average molecular weight of 4,500,000-8,000,000 are dispersed in the rubber composition. The rubber composition contains a fine grain starch/ plasticizer composite material of 5-40 phr, a reinforcing filler such as carbon black or precipitated silica of 10-50 phr and a coupling agent for the filler. |
