PURPOSE: A cap assembly of a secondary battery and an assembly method thereof are provided to increase a capacity of a battery by reducing the number of components and expanding a valid space in which an electrode section within a battery is installed. CONSTITUTION: A cap assembly (60) of a secondary battery comprises a hole (66), an electrode terminal, and a frit (68). The hole is formed on a cap plate (62) composed of aluminum. The electrode terminal is positioned in the center of the hole. The frit is anastomosed so as to be filled in the hole. The cap assembly of the secondary battery has an advantage of expanding a valid space in which an electrode section (4) is to be installed as well as increasing the battery capacity, by reducing a space for the cap assembly within the battery. Accordingly, the cap assembly of the secondary battery is easily manufactured in a shorter time, serving to improve productivity.
