PURPOSE: An apparatus for converting a horizontal projection rate for compensating a keystone distortion of a liquid crystal display projector is provided to compensate the keystone distortion by detecting horizontal distortion dot number and converting horizontal projection rate using the detected horizontal distortion dot number. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for converting a horizontal projection rate for compensating a keystone distortion of a liquid crystal display projector includes a micro computer(20), a timing adjustor(40) and a projection converter(50). The micro computer(20) varies a keystone distortion angle according to the selection of an OSD(on screen display) menu of a user. The timing adjustor(40) receives a horizontal and a vertical synchronous signals and outputs each vertical line number. The projection converter(50) detects the keystone distortion angle and a horizontally distortion dot number based on the vertical line number, comparing the result with the horizontal dot number of an original image signal and converts the horizontal projection rate so as to project different image signals for each vertical line.
