PURPOSE: A method for calculating a play time of a disc reproducing apparatus is provided to accurately and easily display a time. CONSTITUTION: Cluster and sector information of each music program recorded on a disc is obtained from the information of TOC(Table Of Contents). Cluster and sector number information of each music program is calculated according to the cluster and sector information of each music program. Cluster and sector number information of all music programs recorded on the disc is calculated according to the cluster and sector number information of each music program. The cluster and sector number information of each music program and of all music programs is exchanged to time information to display a time. A table is used in the change of time information from cluster and sector number information.
