IMAGE SEARCH APPARATUS USING STRUCTURAL CHROMATIC INVARIANT AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An image search apparatus using a structural chromatic invariant and a method thereof are provided to increase a recognition rate by considering control invariant information as well as color proximity while recognizing colors. CONSTITUTION: The image search apparatus using a structural chromatic invariant includes a control invariant calculator, a proximity calculator, a structural color invariant calculator and a comparator. The color invariant calculator converts each of database images which is to be compared into color signal, calculates a histogram of the converted values, normalizes a maximum coordinates of each mode so as to attain the color invariant value. The proximity calculator divides images from the images and the database images and calculates proximities between each cell regions attained by dividing step using the histogram. The structural color invariant calculator determines the structural color invariant value including the color invariant value as well as the proximity for each of the images and the database images. The comparator compares the image data with the database images based on the structural color invariant value.
