PURPOSE: A driving method for a self-compensating dynamic balancer is provided to perform balancing through detecting wrong operation of the self-compensating dynamic balancer. CONSTITUTION: In operation of a disk player, a self-compensating dynamic balancer installed in a rotor is operated. Then, an internal vibration of the disk player is detected. Herein, the vibration is detected by using a vibration sensor in the disk player, or using error signal inputted from an optical pickup. In case of the internal vibration is less than an allowable value, a normal operation the balancer is decided to perform recording/reproducing of information on a disk. Otherwise, a wrong operation of the balancer is decided. Thus, the balancing operation of the balancer is performed.
