PURPOSE: A structure for preventing overload of a compressor of an air conditioner is provided to decrease an internal temperature of the compressor by supplying cool air passing though a scroll partially via an air channel, thereby preventing overload of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A structure for preventing overload of a compressor of an air conditioner includes an air channel(355) formed at a predetermined position penetrating a wall surface of a scroll(340) corresponding to the compressor(310) for guiding cool air guided by the scroll to the compressor partially, a valve(350) mounted in a central part of the air channel for closing and opening the air channel to supply cool air to the compressor or stopping the supply, and a control part for supplying cool air to the compressor by opening the valve according to a control signal to prevent overload of the compressor in response to a signal applied from a temperature sensor(312) of the compressor if a temperature of the compressor is higher than a predetermined temperature, while closing the valve according to a control signal for conveying cool air along a normal path if lower.
