PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device having a small defect and compactness by installing, in a separation tank in which a prescribed level is normally held, a rotary drum pivotally supported with the lower half part thereof being immersed and guide means for waste material feeding, heavy material recovery, and light material bringing-out through an entrance window of the rotary drum. SOLUTION: In a separation tank 11 in which a prescribed level is normally held, a rotary drum 14 rotatably supported pivotally is housed with the lower half part thereof being immersed in water. The rotary drum 14 has a cylindrical peripheral wall 14a and a side wall 14c opened in a circle as an entrance window 14b for waste material on one side thereof only. On the inner surface of the rotary drum 14, plural buckets 15 are provided projectingly. On the side in which the entrance window 14b of the rotary drum 14 is opened, a waste material feeding chute 20 for feeding waste material into water, a heavy material recovery chute 23 for receiving heavy material separated and precipitated and scooped up by the rotating buckets 15 and slipping down by gravity, and a light material bring-out chute for putting the separated and floating light material on the agitating overflow of the buckets 15 to bring out it are mounted.
