PURPOSE: A tubular shaft is provided to decrease vibration efficiently by regulating flow of damping liquid flowing inside and outside a pump chamber in pumping with the constricted passage. CONSTITUTION: A tubular shaft(1) comprises a torque-transmitting tubular structure(2), and the torque-transmitting tubular structure comprises at least one torque-transmitting shell(2a,2b). The torque-transmitting shell has elastic properties oriented along at least one helical line. To permit the tubular shaft to be used as an effective vibration damper, the shell surrounds a pumping chamber(3). The pumping chamber contains the damping liquid, and communicates through at least one constricted passage(7) with a reservoir for damping liquid. The shells are formed of fiber reinforced plastic extended along one spiral line, and a spiral groove and a spiral rib are formed on the shell.
