The invention relates to a device for clamping and unclamping tools (16) in a tool holding fixture (10). For this purpose, the free end of said tool holding fixture (10) is provided with an open bush section (12) that frictionally receives the tool shaft (14). Said tool shaft is shrunk into the bore (20) of the bush section (12). For this purpose, an induction coil (26) for heating the bush section (12) is provided which encircles the bush section of the tool holding fixture (10) and which can be impinged upon with a high-frequency alternating current. The aim of the invention is to prevent leakage fields that could unintentionally heat the tool (16). To this end, the front face of the induction coil (26) that borders the free end of the bush section (12) is enclosed by a pole piece (34) of magnetically conductive and electrically non-conductive material that is provided with a central through-opening (36) for the tool (16).
