PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape which exhibits suitable hardness and elongation when used for sealing the joint of the receiving part of a container, such as a metal can, having its lid and the lid, thus enabling the sealing without fail by using, as the substrate of the tape, a mixture of a low-density polyethylene resin and a linear low-density polyethylene resin in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises a substrate film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one side thereof. The substrate film is formed from a mixture of 30-70 wt.% low-density polyethylene resin and 70-30 wt.% linear low-density polyethylene resin, A gnerally used pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used for forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, examples being a rubber-based one and an acrylic one. The substrate can be given a tensile modulus (JIS K-6732) of about 10-50 N/mm2 and an elongation (JIS K-6732) of about 100-500%, A suitable thickness of the substrate is 80μm; and that of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, 5-30μm.
