PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winch capable of towing an object to be towed while widely coping with the weight of the object to be towed, or towing resistance and the like, with the small energy consuption. SOLUTION: For a winch 1, a tank 3 capable of water storage is attached to one end of a part pulled down below a pulley 2 of a linear body 5 which is laid over the pulley 2 above the working floor, and a gondola 4 as an object to be towed is connected to the other end of a part pulled down from the pulley 2, of the linear body 5. A water injecting means 8 for filling up and draining off a tank 3 is connected to the tank 3. The gondola 4 is adapted to be lowered or elevated by changing the weight of the tank 3 in relation to the gondola 4.
