PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic block system and its method which do not cause interference with a train service such as incapability of ensuring blocking of a next train due to erroneous recognition in ensuring the blocking. SOLUTION: After a departure request and an identification signal of a train are transmitted to an electronic blocking station device 3 upon a press of a button of an on-vehicle equipment 1, the electronic blocking station device 3 transmits the identification signal to a running display device 4. The running display device 4 performs a timetable check based on the identification signal of the train and transmits a signal inhibiting signal to the electronic blocking station device 3 when sequential nonconformance of the timetable takes place while it transmits a timetable coincidence signal thereto in a normal state. Only in the normal state, the electronic blocking station device 3 ensures blocking by making reference to a next arrival station and transmits present indication information to the on-vehicle equipment 1 and a present indication device 2. Accordingly, when the departure time comes, present indication for departure is displayed on the present indication device 2 only in the normal state.
