<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly connect a small diametral pipe such as a drain pipe to a large diametral pipe such as sewage easily with high sealing properties by using a joint member. SOLUTION: An external-surface side flange 10 for abutting against an external surface is installed near the front end of the main body 7 of the tubular joint member 3 while a small cylindrical section for forming a post-working internal-surface side flange composed of a thermoplastic plastic material is protruded at least the front end section. The small cylindrical section is inserted into the connecting hole 2 of a large diametral pipe 1, the front end section of the small cylindrical section is heated and softened and expanded, an internal- surface side flange 9a for abutting against an internal surface is formed at the internal-surface side opening edge of the connecting hole 2, and the joint member 3 is joined with the large diametral pipe 1 by pinching and contact- bonding the peripheral section 2a of the connecting hole 2 in the large diametral pipe 1 through a sealing material 11 by both flanges 9a, 10. The small diametral pipe 4 is connected to the connecting section 8 of the joint member 3.</p> |
