PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reciprocating type compressor excellent in an operation efficiency which can control plural temperature zones connected to respective refrigerant circuits independently. SOLUTION: The main body 28 of a reciprocating type compressor is provided with plural cylinders 40, 41, 42, pistons reciprocating in respective cylinders, a first low pressure chamber 30A for introducing a low pressure refrigerant in the pump chamber of at least one cylinder 40, at least one second low pressure chamber 30B for introducing the low pressure refrigerant in the pump chambers of the other cylinders 41, 42 and a high pressure chamber 32 for introducing the high pressure refrigerant delivered from the pump chamber. The suction pipe of a refrigerant circuit is connected to respective low pressure chambers 30A, 30B and the delivery pipe of the refrigerant circuit is connected to the high pressure chamber 32.
