PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new gene cluster which consists of a set of genes most abundantly expressing in a dendritic cell derived from a human monocyte, have a specific serial base sequence in CATG most adjacent to a poly-A region, and can be used for developing methods for diagnosing and treating various human diseases. SOLUTION: This is a new gene cluster which consists of one hundred genes most abundantly expressing in a dendritic cell derived from a human monocyte, and is highly useful for developing new means for diagnosing and treating various human diseases in which a monocyte and a dendritic cell derived from a monocyte play important roles. The cDNA of each gene forms a new human dendritic cell expression gene cluster having each of base sequences shown by formulas I to V following the base sequence 5'-CATG-3' most adjacent to a poly-A region. This gene cluster is obtained by culturing a monocyte with a cytokine such as GM-CSF, IL-4, and TNF-α to give a dendritic cell, preparing a cDNA library from its mRNA, followed by selecting one hundred genes which are most abundantly expressed in the order of high expression frequency of its cDNA. |
