PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a user detection device for a passenger conveyer, by housing detecting elements and display devices in a post stoodly mounted on this side of a boarding entrance, and simplifying wiring work for a signal line to these devices. SOLUTION: Posts 31 are stoodly provided on this side of a boarding entrance 6a with a given distance from the handrails 9 of a passenger conveyer apart, to house detecting elements 32, for detecting users passing through the boarding entrance 6a, in the post 31. Moreover hollow support 34 are stoodly provided between the handrails 9 and the posts 31 to laterally provide hollow cross bars 34a and 34b for linking the supports 34 and the posts 31, to lead the users to posts 31 sides; and also a signal line 36 is inserted into the supports 34 and the bars 34a and 34b to be connected to the elements 32 of the posts 31, thereby transmitting a detected signal to the control board 10 for the conveyer.
