An apparatus and method for paying cash or its equivalent to members of a membership organization for participating in membership activities is disclosed. In one embodiment of the present invention, the membership organization compensates members for spending time browsing the World Wide Web. The membership organization also pays to a first member cash or its equivalent for the time a second member spends browsing the World Wide Web when the second member was referred, directly or indirectly, by the first member. |
