PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden for ascending or descending a stairway by installing a lift on the outside of a staircase, and utilizing the landings of the staircase as elevator halls in a staircase type multiple dwelling house. SOLUTION: A lift is installed on the outside of a staircase in a staircase type multiple dwelling house, and the landing between a second floor and a third floor of the staircase, the landing between the third floor and a fourth floor, and the landing between the fourth floor and a fifth floor are utilized as elevator halls. Each house is accessible via the ascent or descent of a stairway by a 1/2-story from the landing. The burden for ascending or descending the stairway can be reduced by installing the lift without changing the advantage and type of the staircase type multiple dwelling house.
