PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain voltage drop and thereby to provide a cell having high power generation efficiency by providing an oxidation electrode and a reduction electrode and by injecting predetermined ions into at least one of the electrode materials. SOLUTION: Ions of an electrode constituting element are preferable for ions of an element to be injected into each of an oxidation electrode and a reduction electrode. The material of the oxidation electrode is an oxide containing at least one of ruthenium, titanium, cobalt, manganese and nickel, or platinum, palladium, iridium, rhodium or nickel, and ions of cobalt, zinc, ruthenium, oxygen or titanium are injected into it. The material of the reduction electrode is platinum, iridium, rhodium or nickel, and ions of those elements are injected into it. The injection energy and the injection quantity of the ions of the element are set to an extent that brings the surface of the electrode into an amorphous state. Since the oxidation electrode or reduction electrode into which the ions are injected becomes highly active, the voltage drop of the fuel cell due to activation overvoltage can be restrained. |
