PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously provide data having a good corresponding relation to the manual analysis value of residual chlorine by the diethyl-p-phenylene diamine colorimetry(DPD) method. SOLUTION: In this measuring device, sewage added with disinfecting chlorine is used as a sample, a detecting electrode 4 and a counter electrode 6 are provided, and the oxidation-reduction current flowing between the detecting electrode 4 and the counter electrode 6 is measured while the detecting electrode 4 is rotated or vibrated to determine the residual chlorine concentration in the sample. A gold electrode is used for the detecting electrode 4, a silver/silver chloride electrode is used for the counter electrode 6, and a measuring voltage from (-0.2) to (-0.3) V against the counter electrode 6 is applied to the detecting electrode 4 for measurement. |
