PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively record another channel program while viewing a TV channel by constituting a digital broadcast receiver so that it does not have a circuit for converting a reproduced bit stream,signal into a regular analog video sound signal. SOLUTION: A circuit converting a reproduced bit stream signal into a regular analog video sound signal is not installed in a digital broadcast receiver loaded on a digital broadcast recording/reproducing device. In the digital broadcast receiver 40 of a digital broadcast recording/reproducing device 50, a packet separation circuit 43 extracts only an MPEG 2 transport stream signal for one program from an MPEG 2 transport stream and supplies it to a digital recording/reproducing device 200 as the bit stream signal, for example. The digital recording/reproducing device 200 records the signal. When the recorded program is time-shifted and viewed, the reproduced bit stream signal is returned to the packet separation circuit 13 of a digital broadcast receiver 10.
