<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a piezoelectric element by realizing an environment which is satisfactory with respect to moisture and temperature. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric actuator is provided with piezoelectric elements 10a-10d, connecting members 12 and 13 arranged at both ends of the actuator in the direction of its working axis, and a sealing section 14 which seals the elements 10a-10d and members 12 and 13 and is made of a urethane gel. Since the sealing section 14 has an elastic modulus smaller than those of the connecting members 12 and 13 and the members 12 and 13 are exposed from the section 14 in the direction of the working axis, the displacement of the elements 10a-10d are efficiently transmitted to the outside. In addition, since the sealing section 14 made of urethane gel is used, the elements 10a-10d can be surely sealed and covered, and the heat generated from the elements 10a-10d can easily escape to the outside.</p> |
