PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an existing controller to control an electronic equipment belonging to a category different from but compatible with a category corresponding to the existing controller in a network where a plurality of electronic equipment are interconnected. SOLUTION: In a network where a plurality of electronic equipment 11-13 are interconnected, the electronic equipment 13 belonging to a category B acquires a node unique ID of the electronic device 11 that is a controller and belongs to a category A and retrieves the acquired node unique ID from a table where an information list of controllers which can control the equipment 13 itself is described for a key. When this node unique ID is listed in the table, the electronic device 13 transits to a mode in which it is controlled by the electronic device 11.
