PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure stable electrification performance by arranging a plurality of corona electrifiers next to each other horizontally with respect to the face of a photoreceptor and perpendicularly or almost perpendicularly to the drive direction of the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: An image forming device in which, for example, three corona electrifiers are provided has first, second and third corona wires 32, 33 and 34, respectively, and comprises a shield case 27, so constructed as to shield each corona wire, and grids 28. When foreign matter such as toner, dust, or powder dust floating in the device sticks to the first corona wire 32, an electrification irregularity occurs. However, since corona discharge having the same potential as that of the first corona wire 32 is caused by the second corona wire 33 and third corona wire 34, the electrification irregularity can be compensated. By compensating the electrification irregularity caused by soil on the corona wire with electrification by the other corona electrifiers in the above manner, stable electrification performance can be ensured.
