PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system where a transmission path is set to a space while avoiding especially a resident space and an office space where people and things come and go frequently in an in-room radio system including an in-room radio telemeter or an in-room radio LAN or the like for medical, industrial and scientific technological fields. SOLUTION: This indoor radio system is configured such that a space between a true floor (1) and a raised floor (3) added for raising is used for a propagation space and a modulated electromagnetic wave is propagated by aiming at transmission reception of utility units through the propagation space. Since the raised floor (3) includes perforated metallic plates (4), the floor (3) has definite conductivity, which keeps an object modulated electromagnetic wave within the propagation space so as not to be leaked to in a room. The conductive raised floor (3) has a sufficiently required number of holes (5) with a small diameter that provides a cut-off frequency in comparison with the wavelength of the operating electromagnetic wave. On the other hand, an antenna (7) in a probe (6) of a utility unit (9) installed on the floor and placed in the vicinity of the hole (5) or a group of the holes (5) is coupled with the electromagnetic wave propagated through the propagation space by means of proximity electromagnetic wave coupling by an evanescent wave or the like.
