PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnecessary current consumption caused at waiting when display showing out of area is carelessly overlooked and key operation is executed by retrieving a telephone directory in accordance with a request and rejecting the retrieval request when it is out of area. SOLUTION: When a user carelessly overlooks a display showing out of area and unnecessarily intends to drive a CPU, a control part executes the following various control operations. Namely the control part monitors whether a telephone directory retrieval starting button is depressed by using a function button on a key operation part and the CUP is switched to a retrieving state or not. When the start button is depressed, the control part judges whether the current state is that of out of the area or within the area. When the current state is within the area, the control part starts the retrieval of the telephone directory, and in the case of out of the area, forcedly ends the telephone directory retrieving processing. According to circumstances, the user is informed of the useless retrieval request to prevent the repetition of a retrieval request. Thus the unnecessary operation of the CPU out of the area can be limited. |
