PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture method of a ceramic arc tube for a metal halide lamp. SOLUTION: This manufacture method includes, as essential component units, a process for forming a hollow body having an one open end 36 and an end 38 substantially closed and including a long capillary extending in an outer direction, a process for forming an end cap for integrally coupling with the open end 36 and integrally including the long capillary extending in the outer direction, a process for forming a spare assembly by engaging the end cap with the open end 36, a process for forming an assembly by burning the spare assembly and sealing the end cap to the hollow body, and a process for burning the assembly and sintering it so as to be in a highly translucent state.
