PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress degradation with time passage of an electron element by sealing an organic EL structural body formed on a substrate with a sealing plate and arranging mixture of desiccant and silicone compound on an inner surface of the sealing plate. SOLUTION: An organic EL element comprises an organic EL structural body 2, formed on a substrate 1 and a sealing plate 3 arranged at a prescribed interval so as to cover the organic EL structural body 2. The sealing plate 3 is adhered and fixed to the substrate 1 with an adhesive 4 to seal the organic EL structural body 2. A mixture 5 of silicone compound and desiccant is arranged on an inner surface of the sealing plate 3. The organic EL structural body 2 is sealed firmly with a very simple structure, by arranging the mixture 5 of the desiccant and silicone compound on the inner surface of the sealing plate 3 for sealing the organic EL structural body 2. Manufacturing processes are simplified, moisture is eliminated effectively, degradation of the element with time passage such as degradation in brightness with a lapse of drive time, generation and expansion of dark spots or the like are suppressed effectively, and initial performance is maintained over a long period of time.
