PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic answering telephone set capable of processing a message from a transmitter corresponding to importance without cost-up. SOLUTION: This automatic answering telephone set having an automatic recording function is provided with a number detecting part 2 for detecting the telephone number of an incoming telephone call at the time of telephone call incoming to the automatic answering telephone set, a number storage part 8 for storing the telephone number detected by the number detecting part 2, a count part 3 for counting how many times the telephone call is transmitted with the telephone number stored in the number storage part 8 and a count storage part 7 for cumulatively storing the number of times of transmission calculated by the count part 3 so that an incoming history can be grasped.
