PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery bored with a gas discharge port on a sealing cover, closed with the gas discharge port by a thin film to form a gas discharge valve, and making the thin film rarely broken even when the battery is dropped. SOLUTION: A cylindrical vent hole 341 is bored at the side section 34b, where a gas discharge port 360 is provided, on an insulating plate 34. The vent hole 341 is bored from the gas discharge port 360 side of the side section 34b to this side of an electrode body 20, and it is shielded by a disk-like shielding plate 342 provided at the side end section of the electrode body 20 of the side section 34b. The side section 34b is bored with vent grooves 343a, 343b communicating the outside of the shielding plate 342 and the vent hole 341 as gas release paths to the vent hole 341 from the inside of a battery. |
