<p>The invention describes the use of an agent which regulates cell proliferation for modulating the levels of production of a gene product of interest in a host organism, said use comprising the steps of: a) transforming an expandable population of cells with a transgene encoding the gene product of interest; b) expressing the transgene in the population of cells to produce the gene product of interest in the host organism; and c) regulating proliferation of the population of cells in the host organism by administration of the agent, thereby modulating the amount of gene product produced in the host organism.</p> |
