The mouthpiece (3) fits individually against the upper and lower teeth, being made of a flexible plastic which grips the teeth from inside and outside. At the front, it has a connecting piece (1) leading to the snorkel tube or to automatic breathing apparatus. There is an aperture (2) in the mouthpiece to enable the requisite breathing mixture to be inhaled.
