PURPOSE: A method for correcting a vertical shaking of a reproducing screen is provided to correct a vertical shaking of a reproducing screen when a low-speed recorded image is reproduced for a long time, by variably regulating a pseudo V-sync generation timing about many specific channels, after setting an initial value of a pseudo V-sync generation timing. CONSTITUTION: Initial value of pseudo vertical synchronization signal for locking a vertical synchronization of the reproduced fields being reproduced by a switching-selected heads is set in correspondence with a head switching pulse in response to a reproduced speed. A head switching pulse is generated in order to reproduce the recorded signal with a selected speed. A regulation data being input to regulate a generation timing of the pseudo vertical synchronization signal is added to the initial value of the pseudo vertical synchronization signal. At the adding point, a corresponding pseudo vertical synchronization signal is generated. The generated pseudo vertical synchronization signal is mixed with a reproduced video signal, and then a mixed video signal is outputted.
