PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to significantly reduce the volume of white smog while allowing an air activated to a normal temperature to be supplied to an engine during a cold start up of the automobile. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus in a diesel engine automobile provided with an intercooler(4) for cooling a sucked air and supplying the cooled air to an engine(1), and a pre-heating plug(6) for pre-heating an air to be supplied to the engine, the apparatus comprising an auxiliary passage(10) for guiding the sucked air to be fed to the engine without passing through the intercooler, first and second dampers(11,12) installed at an entrance side of the auxiliary passage, respectively, so as to open/shut off the auxiliary passage, first and second motors(13,14) rotating by an inputted voltage so as to open/shut off the first and second dampers, a sensor for sensing a temperature of atmosphere, another sensor for sensing a temperature of the cooling water, a relay switch(17) operating by an input voltage so as to turn on/off the pre-heating plug, and ECU(18) for outputting a control signal for reducing the volume of white smog if the temperature sensed by the two sensors is lower than a predetermined level in an early stage of starting of automobile, and a time controller(19) for driving the relay switch and the first and second motors in accordance with a control signal from the ECU so that the sucked air is supplied to the engine through the auxiliary passage.
