A seat recliner (10) for interconnecting a seatback (16) for pivotal movement relative to a seat bottom (14). The seat recliner (10) includes a housing (28) and a recliner rod (30) having one end supported for movement relative to the housing (28), a lock pawl (70) retained in a predefined memory position for movement between a locked position and a relaxed position. A recline actuator assembly (34) is selectively actuated for moving the lock pawl (70) from its locked position to its released position. A lock pin (144) is supported by the housing for movement between a first position and a second position. A dump actuator assembly (36) moves the lock pin from its first position to its second position. The seat recliner (10) retains the lock pin in its second position when the lock pawl is moved out of the memory position.
