Welding unit (30) is impressed into the surface (22) of a plastic component (20) before a film (10) is placed between them. An Independent claim is included for the process equipment which has a control unit governing movement of the welding unit (30) and/or component (20) for impressing the component surface(22). Preferred Features: Movement of the welding unit (30,40) during preforming exceeds movement during film welding by an amount equal to the film thickness.
