PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject film having excellent taste characteristics of contents, long-term preservability and reduction in a catalytic metal component, moldable, processable by lamination, having excellent flavor characteristics and corrosion resistance after molding and processing as a packaging material by making the film include amorphous germanium as a catalytic metal remaining in the film. SOLUTION: This film contains amorphous germanium as a catalytic metal remaining in the film. Preferably the film satisfies the formula 3<=M<=30 [M is the amount (millimol %) of the catalytic metal element remaining in the film. The content of free aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomethyl ester contained in the film is <=2 ppm. The ratio of the titanium content (ppm) to amorphous germanium content is preferably 0.2 to 5. The melting point of the polyester of the film is preferably 246 to 280 deg.C. Preferably the film contains phosphoric acid.
