PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction reinforcing structure and method which comprises covering a support member, such as a column having a projecting wall or a slab-equipped beam, with a high-strength fiber sheet firmly spread over a wide area, and preventing the fiber sheet from being separated from fasteners in the event of large earthquakes to prevent shear breakdown of the support member and to increase the earthquake resistance of a construction while enhancing the appearance of the attached fasteners and safety, and reducing the size and weight of the fasteners and simplifying their arrangement, thus rationalizing reinforcing work of this kind and enhancing productivity. SOLUTION: Fasteners 5 are connected via bolts 10 to both sides of the base part of a wall 2 projecting from the peripheral surface of a support member 1. The fasteners 5 are engaged in a high-strength fiber sheet 3a covering the peripheral surface of the support member 1. The high-strength fiber sheet 3a covers the peripheral surface of the support member 1 and the peripheral surface of the base part of the wall 2. The high-strength fiber sheet 3a on the peripheral surface of the base part of the wall 2 is clamped and held by the fasteners 5 and the wall 2.
