<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cover the upper part of a rear pillar by an air bag, even if an inflator is installed and fixed to the rear pillar. SOLUTION: In this head protection air bag device M1, an inflator 47 is installed and fixed to the rear pillar body 21 of a car inside and an air bag 43 to provided with the position 43c for developing and expanding so as to cover the car inside of a rear pillar garnish 23, which is provided with a front panel 24 installed on the rear pillar body 21 and constituting a front edge side and a rear panel 31 constituting a rear edge side, respectively. The front panel 24 is provided with a cover 26 for preventing the invasion of the air bag 43 to the space between the rear pillar body 21 and front panel 24 in the area for developing and expanding the air bag 43 on the rear edge side. The rear panel 31 is provided with a door 36 openable at the developing and expanding time of the air bag 43 in the area for developing and inflating the air bag on the front edge side.</p> |
