PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process for a titanium oxide powder that can form titanium oxide of high crystalline properties in no need of heat treatment, for example, the firing treatment as a post-processing. SOLUTION: An additive that proceeds the equilibrium of the reaction given in the formula: TiF62-+2H2O TiO2+4HF+2F- toward the right side is added to an aqueous solution of titanium fluoro complex to prepare a supersaturated solution of titanium oxide as a solution to be processed. Then, the supersaturated solution is placed in a heat-resistant and tightly closed vessel and the objective titanium oxide is precipitated from this supersaturated solution.
