PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a light weight and space-saving torque rod while maintaining the predetermined strength and rigidity (both flexural and torsional). SOLUTION: A connecting pipe 12 is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy and connected at both ends thereof to a pair of end members 13, also made of aluminum or aluminum alloy and having a ring portion 13a and projection portion 13b for connection. A pipe main body 12a is provided in the middle of the connecting pipe, and a pair of connecting end portions 12b are provided at the both ends of the connecting pipe, with the outer diameter thereof smaller than that of the pipe main body. Both ends of the pipe main body are connected to the pair of connecting end portions respectively with a pair of taper portions 12c. The taper portions become thinner and thinner from the both ends of the pipe main body toward the pair of connecting end portions. Also, the outer diameter of the projection portion for connection is formed to be generally the same as the connecting end portions.
