PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the positional shift of an ink ribbon even if an ink ribbon different in width is used. SOLUTION: An ink ribbon support device is equipped with a pair of cylindrical support shafts 23, 24 having a supply bobbin 21 of an ink ribbon 2 and a taking-up bobbin 22 taking up the ink ribbon mounted thereto, the support member 25 supporting these support shafts at one end thereof in a freely rotatable manner, a drive shaft 26 having the support shaft on which the taking-up bobbin is mounted fitted thereto in a detachable manner in an axial direction in a state wherein the revolution around its axis is restricted, a follower shaft 27 having the support shaft on which the supply bobbin is mounted fitted thereto in a detachable manner in an axial direction in a state wherein revolution around its axis is restricted and a bracket 28 on which the drive shaft and the follower shaft are mounted in a freely rotatable manner and to which the support member is arranged in opposed relationship and a positioning mechanism for performing the relative positioning of the bracket and the support member is provided between the bracket and the support member.
