PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To variously deform a making magnetic field by constituting a Z gradient coil of individual or continuous turns (or a turn group), providing lead wires on the end surface side of these turns, and constituting the turns so as to be selectively mutually connectable on the outside of the coil according to a desired output characteristic. SOLUTION: A Z gradient coil is composed of plural, for example, eight turns 1 to 8. The respective turns 1 to 8 are respectively separated in an upper part to be individually pulled outside by connecting wires 10, and a turn group and a sub-group are constituted by optionally connecting the individual turns 1 to 8 on the outside of the coil. When performed on the switching Z gradient coil, nine turns are arranged, and among these, the turns 1 to 3 are mutually separately arranged, the turns 4 to 8 are arranged in close vicinity to each other, and are arranged so as to constitute one kind of turn group. Even in such constitution, the nine turns 1 to 9 are mutually connected by various methods so as to be separately controlled.
